At Abacus Plumbing, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding service to our customers. We also like to support those in our area who also serve our community. That’s why we established our “Count on Us to Care” Program.

This month, Abacus donated $500 worth of materials and equipment to help a local Boy Scout with his Eagle Scout project. The project involved the demolition and remodeling of two restrooms at the St. Rose of Lima Youth Center. The St. Rose of Lima Eagle Scout project is the work of Joseph Gaudiano of local Boy Scout Troop 40. Joseph is not only working on the project himself, but is organizing donations of materials and funds to ensure the new restrooms meet all required codes and are accessible to everyone, including the handicapped. He plans on having the new restrooms completed by the middle of August.

The donation by Abacus is part of a recently launched program that will regularly offer monthly donations to different charities in the area plus an annual scholarship award. In July, a scholarship was awarded to Daniel Dietz, a recent graduate of Kingwood Park High School, for $1,000. Each month, Abacus management will select a charity to receive a check for $500. Charities will be selected based on their involvement and commitment to serving the needs of those living in the Houston area.

The program was named after the Abacus brand promise of “You Can Count on Us”, which describes the Abacus commitment to offering reliability, professionalism, and integrity in their plumbing business. “We just wanted to give something back,” stated Alan O’Neill, president of Abacus Plumbing. “We pride ourselves on exceptional service in solving customers’ plumbing needs, and we are excited to be part of such a worthy project as the one Joseph is undertaking at the youth center,“ he added.
