410-A HVAC Systems Houston, TX

What's The Catch?

  • Abacus has multiple 410A HVAC Systems and equipment still in inventory.
  • Manufactures were required to phase out production by Jan 2025.
  • We need to sell all systems by December 31, 2025.
  • ABACUS can and will be able to service and repair your 410A system through the Warranty period.

We are offering HUGE incentives for customers that are thinking about replacing their system, but they must be sold and installed by December. 31st, 2025.
(SEE EPA citations below about the phasing out of 410A Systems.)

Here’s what the EPA actually says, with direct citations:

  1. Governing rule & phase-down
The 410A transition in residential and light commercial air conditioning/heat pumps is governed by EPA’s Technology Transitions program under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act.
    • Final rule fact sheet: “Phasedown of Hydrofluorocarbons: Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hydrofluorocarbons under Subsection (i) of the AIM Act of 2020” (EPA, Office of Air and Radiation). Final Rule Factsheet »
  2. New 410A systems – how long can we install them?
On EPA’s “Technology Transitions HFC Restrictions by Sector” page, note 6 under the Systems table states:
“New systems with a GWP above 700 can be installed until January 1, 2026, so long as all components are manufactured or imported prior to January 1, 2025.” Technology Transitions HFC Restricitons by Sector »
Since R-410A has a GWP far above 700, our remaining residential/light-commercial split and packaged systems that were manufactured/imported before 1/1/2025 are explicitly allowed to be installed as new systems through 12/31/2025 under current EPA rules.
  3. Use and service of 410A systems
In the same final rule, EPA is clear that the regulation “does not restrict the continued use of any existing products or RACHP systems” and that systems may be serviced and repaired throughout their useful life, with components for repairs still allowed to be produced/imported/sold. Technology Transitions Final Rule Factsheet »
In other words, customers who choose a 410A system are buying legal equipment that can be serviced for years, not something that becomes unusable when the new A2L systems take over the market.
  4. Proposed changes (for awareness)
In late 2025, EPA proposed revisions to parts of this rule, including potentially removing the Jan 1, 2026 installation deadline for some residential/light-commercial systems built from pre-2025 components, but those changes are not final yet. Reconsideration Proposals Factsheet »
Until a new final rule is published, our conservative compliance position remains:
    • Only install 410A systems where all components are pre-1/1/2025 manufacture/import, and
    • Treat Jan 1, 2026 as the install cutoff for new 410A systems.

What These Government Sources Mean for R-410A Refrigerant Availability

Supply For Servicing

  • There is no EPA rule banning the sale or use of R-410A refrigerant for servicing existing systems — it remains legal to buy and use as long as supply exists.
  • EPA’s AIM Act authority and allowance system reduces production and import each year, but doesn’t abruptly make refrigerant illegal at a specific future date like 2026. HFC Allowances »
