Houston, Our Animals Need Your Help

Houstonians love their pets. In the wake of hurricanes and flooding many animals are left homeless. In addition to many other reasons pets don’t have homes, The Houston SPCA does it’s best everyday to care for their furry and not so furry charges. But the SPCA needs our help. They need food, veterinary care, and loving homes. But, what they need most is Houston’s support. Show your love for animals at the Turn Up With Your Pup Day, as reported by the Houstonia.

Dogs And Their Humans Take To The Streets in EaDo on June 22

New festival, Turn Up With Your Pup, raises money for Houston’s homeless pets.

IN AN EFFORT TO ERADICATE HOUSTON’S HOMELESS PET POPULATION, the Houston SPCA, Sartori Marketing and EaDo are gearing up for the first ever Turn Up With Your Pup Day on Friday, June 22.

From 3 to 8 p.m. you’ll find barbecue, a bar sponsored by 8th Wonder Brewery, dog adoptions, games, live music, vendors, silent auction items, and tons of pups ready to jump in the photo booth with you and your best friend at 3420 Rusk Street.

The street fest coincides with National Take Your Dog to Work Day, and hopefully it will also be National Get Off Work Early Day, so you can head out at 2:50ish, find parking, slather on the sunscreen, and prepare for ALL THE DOGGOS in the doggie pool.

Mayor Turner has officially proclaimed June 22 Turn Up With Your Pup Day here in Houston, so hey, that alone calls for an ice cold beer as well, does it not?

The funds raised during Turn Up With Your Pup will go to the Houston SPCA, which, contrary to popular belief, does not receive funding from the ASPCA, but operates as a separate entity.

So get out there and show some support. Head to turnupwithyourpup.com for more information.
